It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Roy Stebbings on Friday 9^th February 2024 at the age of 88. 

Roy, the husband of Margaret, father of Ian & Paul and grandfather of Elizabeth & Alicia was part of the establishment of System Hygiene Ltd for many years, with some of his family having now worked here for forty years. 

After leaving school, Roy completed his National Service and served in the Territorial Army for ten years before working as a HGV driver for the remainder of his working life. He retired from his last post at Norweb at the age of 59 in 1994. 

Little did Roy know that when he retired, Paul and Robin would rope him into becoming the handyman / delivery driver (when required) for System Hygiene for the next nearly 25 years. His love of carpentry and DIY served him well and he was a regular visitor at System Hygiene performing all aspects of maintenance and repairs. 

Roy decided to step back from his duties in 2020 when Covid arrived, at the age of 85, but he was always keen to know about the goings on within the business. Roy made many friends at System Hygiene and was well liked by all; he was always present at the Christmas party and always happiest with a pint of lager in his hand. 

Roy’s funeral will take place at 3pm on Wednesday 21^st February 2024 at Accrington Crematorium where people are more than welcome to attend. There will be refreshments at The Peel Park Hotel afterwards.
