On Sunday 22nd April, our Stephen ‘The Power’ Parker is running the Blackpool Half Marathon in aid of Derian House Children’s Hospice.

“I can’t wait for Sunday.” says Stephen. “I’ve been practising year-round with gym work, cross-training and several long distance runs each week to build up my stamina ahead of the 21km challenge."

And there’s a very good reason behind Stephen’s gruelling fitness regime. He is aiming to fundraise £500 for Derian House, the children’s hospice that is based in Chorley, Lancashire.

“Derian House does truly inspirational work in providing specialist respite, palliative and end-of-life care for children and young people who have life-limiting conditions,” says Stephen.

He continues, “Every penny that I raise on Sunday will help the charity to provide a much-needed lifeline for the many children and families that Derian House supports throughout Lancashire and the North West. I’m very proud to get behind such a good cause.”

Stephen joined System Hygiene in 2006 on a Modern Apprenticeship before various promotions led him to the role of Operations Supervisor.
